Our stays are all organized around excursions in the desert, but in many different ways. You can choose walking, the camel, the horse, the bicycle – increasingly popular –, Motorcycles, scooters, and 4x4s must be yours, while bicycles and quads can be rented on-site. You can also choose to travel as a passenger in the agency's 4x4s.
If walking or riding a camel is suitable for those who love a slow adventure, every motorized stay will still allow you to spend some days in the desert and experience this extraordinary adventure your way.
If you arrive early in Djerba, you can visit the city and the picturesque medina; on Mondays, you will find the traditional weekly market.
If the weather permits, it will be possible to take a dip off a white sandy beach and immerse yourself in the azure waters of the sea, full of seashells.
If you arrive in the afternoon, after visiting the city, a dinner in a local restaurant is scheduled, and the night in a hotel in Djerba.
The next day, you will reach the base camp by jeep or minibus, where the desert excursion will begin. If you disembark in Tunis, with the help of the guides, you will see the most iconic places in Tunisia before reaching the Sahara.
Begins with waking up at the first light of dawn. Watching the sun rise from the sand will be fantastic. A hearty breakfast will be served with hot freshly made bread baked in the coals, honey, fresh fruit, dates, coffee, and fragrant mint tea.
After breakfast you will leave camp, the necessary items will be loaded onto the dromedaries or off-road vehicles, and you will walk for a few hours until you reach the chosen destination, with refreshment stops in the shade of some bushes. If you are tired, you can always get on the dromedary and be transported at its leisurely swaying pace.
Upon reaching the camping place, tents will be set up, lunch will be prepared, and after eating, there will be a long afternoon break for rest, reading and possibly recreational activities if included, such as yoga and qi gong, or you will resume the journey if you have chosen a more active trip.
If you are in a car, you will follow the chosen itinerary until the agreed stop.
In the evening the night camp will be set up while enjoying a snack of salted almonds and roasted chickpeas. You will see unforgettable sunsets while sipping mint tea as the Bedouin dinner is prepared under a starry sky, with bread baked in the coals, traditional music and songs and dancing around the campfire. You can choose to sleep in a tent or simply outdoors to better watch the moon and stars
Every day you will discover a different landscape; the desert is never the same and will never cease to seduce and amaze in spring, you may also admire the blooming shrubs and flowers that spring from the sand.
