If you're arriving with your own vehicle, the recommended port of call is Tunis, La Goulette. Ferries depart from France (Marseille, Toulon) and several Italian cities (Genoa, Civitavecchia, Salerno, Palermo).

Programme:

• Once disembarked, you'll make your own way to Douz, the gateway to the desert, where you'll meet the local guides from the travel agency and begin your Jeep safari in the desert.
• If you prefer to be accompanied upon arrival, local guides will pick you up in La Goulette. Along the way, you'll make several stops to visit the country's main attractions, including Tunis, Carthage, Hammamet, and Kairouan. Together, you'll reach Douz, before departing for the desert.
• The return journey will complete your tour of the country, as you'll also visit Tozeur, Sousse, Monastir, and El Djem, famous for its incredible amphitheater, one of the best preserved in the world. Departing from Tunis, La Goulette.

Programme:

• If you arrive by plane, you'll be picked up at Djerba Airport, where you'll be dropped off on your departure day.
• Once in Douz, you'll rent quads to drive through the desert, and you can also take a passenger on the local agency's 4x4s.
• Depending on your choice, you'll either stay in a hotel or take a full-day tour, camping in a tent under the stars and enjoying a Bedouin dinner with bread baked in embers of the fire, going into the Sahara Desert and discovering its wonders.
• Upon request, one or more days of camel treks are also available.
