Between Sand and Stars: Your Journey into Simply Letting Go

Welcome to the immensity of the Tunisian Sahara. This trip is timeless, conceived as a sensory journey between the infinite splendour of the day and the mystery of the night. Exploring the duality of the Sun (fire, action, vital energy) and the Moon (water, introspection, letting go), your journey set to the deep breath of the desert.

Here, everything is an invitation. Each day offers a series of practices and rituals that you are free to take part in according to your own energy and desires. The immensity of the dunes becomes a mirror of your inner space: a place to clear your mind, ground yourself, and slow down to the unchanging rhythm of the desert.

The 6-day, 5-night stay includes arrival in Djerba and departure from the airport, an overnight stay in a hotel depending on flight schedules, and transfer by off-road vehicle to the desert base camp, where the course will take place. The course includes a very simple hike with camels, overnight stays in tents or under the stars, and activities that may vary depending on fitness and the group's preferences.

Programme:

The Compass of Your Days (Explore at your own pace)

  • The Solar Dawn: The Awakening of Energy (Yang Option)
  • The desert awakes pure and fresh. It's the ideal time to let your energy flow before the hottest hours arrive.
  • 5:30 AM | The Awakening of the Desert: You can choose to slip out of the tent and savour sunrise. A hot infusion (verbena or weak tea) awaits you near the embers of the fire from the night before for a silent wakening.
  • 6:00 AM | Optional Practice: Solar Flow on the Crest of the Dunes: Come and practice a dynamic Vinyasa or Hatha routine facing the blazing horizon. We often practice barefoot on the still-cool sand to encourage grounding. Emphasis will be placed on Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) and energizing breathing to waken your inner fire.
  • 7:45 AM | Berber Breakfast: A moment of sharing, warm bread (mella) prepared by our guides, local olive oil, Deglet Nour dates, honey, and bsissa (a traditional invigorating blend of grains and spices).
The Crossing and the Silence: Grounding in Movement

  • The Afghan Walk & Itinerary Option:
  • 09h00 | On some days, we will partially break camp walking at the pace of the camel caravan, Afghan walking: a technique of synchronizing breath with footsteps that transforms walking on the sand into a true meditation in movement or you can simply let yourself be carried away riding on a dromedary.
The Zenith: Refuge and the Void (Introspection Option)

  • At noon when the sun dictates absolute stillness, the camp transforms into a space of total disconnection.
  • 12:00 PM | The Freshness Lunch: A light and hydrating meal prepared by our chefs, large Tunisian salads, accompanied by a traditional mint green tea to help regulate the body's temperature.
  • 1:00 PM | The Saharan Siesta & Yoga Nidra Option: A moment of relaxation to settle into the shade of the Bedouin tent.
  • If you wish: You can let a voice guide you through a Yoga Nidra session (the yoga of conscious sleep). Lying on a mat and wrapped in your fouta, immersed in deep relaxation.
  • Or: Dedicate this time to reading, intuitive writing, or simply sleeping.

Sunset: Release (Yin Option)

  • The Saharan sky, untainted by light pollution, unveils thousands of stars. The moon becomes our guide.
  • 19h30 | Dinner Beneath the Stars: Gathered around the campfire, enjoy a heartwarming traditional dinner (steamed desert-vegetable couscous or the Bedouin malthouth stew).
  • 21h15 | The Lunar Ritual & Trāṭaka Option: Depending on the evening and your level of fatigue, you can take part in gentle Moon Salutations (Chandra Namaskar)—highly fluid and circular under the moonlight—followed by a Trāṭaka meditation, gazing at the glowing embers of the fire to calm the mind before the night.
  • Late evening: You will have the choice to retreat to the comfort of your tent or to slide your small mattress onto the crest of a dune for an unforgettable night in the open air, your eyes lost in the Milky Way.
